Dr. Usamah Jannoun

Dr Jannoun is a Fellow, Examiner, and Appraiser of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (FSEM UK) and is a member of the International Spinal Intervention Society (ISIS). He has worked with sportsmen and recreational athletes for over 15 years in the UK and abroad (Switzerland, Germany, Bermuda) and brings with him a wealth of clinical experience. A keen sportsman himself (club level tennis, windsurfing, skiing), his interest lay in Back Pain and Sport and Exercise Medicine. He works 2 days a week as an NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Physician for the Brighton and Sussex University Hospital NHS Trust. His private practice in London and Brighton focuses around specialist assessment and novel treatments for back pain and sports related injuries. He is on the Medical Advisory Board (MAC) of The Harley Street Medical Centre. He has recently joined a panel of experts in the national “Cycling Weekly” magazine and is Chief Medical Advisor for UKUA, the UK governing body for Ultimate Frisbee.

Dr Jannoun teaches and lectures both nationally and internationally to a wide audience in Musculoskeletal and Sports and Exercise Medicine. He is examiner and clinical tutor for the Bath University Postgraduate Diploma/MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine, the British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine (BIMM) modular courses, and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM). He has also been recently appointed as teaching Faculty member of the University of Bournemouth on the Masters Course in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.

On international level, he is secretary of the FIMM Academy, an international team of specialists selected to coordinate the teaching standards and evidence based medicine in the Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Medicine. He is on the editorial board of the European Journal of Manual Medicine and has publications and abstracts published in national and international journals.

Dr Jannoun sees patients of all levels and differing sporting activities, from the recreational and professional athlete to the international athlete.
